Transcend Information, Inc. announces its high-speed DDR2-533 Micro-DIMM (P/N: TS32MMQ64V5M, TS64MMQ64V5M) Sub-Notebook memory modules for Intel's New Sonoma (Centrino II) platform. The modules are designed to be only 65 per cent of the size of the SO-DIMMs (Small Outline DIMMs) used in notebooks, but with the same memory capacity. The introduction of these new modules will further accelerate the manufacture of the lighter and smaller Sub-Notebooks, which have enhanced functionality and a longer battery life.
Micro-DIMMs use a new 214-pin "mezzanine connector" technology, which reduces the size of the module by approximately 40 percent as compared with the current SO-DIMMs. Transcend offers its 256/512MB DDR2-533 Micro-DIMMs to support the next-generation of high-speed computer platforms due for release in 2005. All of Transcend's DDR2-533 memory modules follow the standard developed by JEDEC (the Joint Electron Device Engineering Council), the memory industry's standards organization. The entirely new 256/512MB DDR2 Micro-DIMM modules provide significant benefits for notebook computers, including smaller size and better performance. In addition, the module's low power consumption can improve battery life, which leads to outstanding performance and longer usage times.
Transcend's high quality 256MB and 512MB DDR2-533 Micro-DIMMs are fully compatible with the latest Intel Sonoma (Centrino II) platform; they are the best memory solution for Sonoma (Centrino II) platform notebooks.
